Brooke Mueller has wrested custody from Charlie Sheen of their twin sons - Bob and Max - telling the court that she believes Sheen is "currently insane."
Based on a court order, police visited Sheen's Beverly Hills mansion on Tuesday and took the 23-month-old boys away.
Earlier on Tuesday, Brooke obtained a restraining order against Sheen from LA Superior Court Judge M. Goldberg, alleging that Sheen had threatened and physically abused her. Sheen is forbidden to come within 100 yards of her.
In her declaration to the court, Mueller said that Sheen punched her in the arm, spat on her feet and "threatened to stab my eye with a pen knife." [via People]
Mueller also expressed fears about the safety of their twins.
"I am very concerned that [Sheen] is currently insane," she stated. "I am in great fear that he will find me and attack me and I am in great fear for the children's safety while in his care."
Mueller told the court that Sheen took the twins away from her residence on February 26, without her permission. When she tried to get them back, he threatened, "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom."
According to Mueller, Sheen had little contact with the children following the December 25, 2009 domestic violence incident, and their consequent separation.
He "rarely saw our children and only recently began to show any interest in them," she told the court.
A hearing has been set for March 22, which both Sheen and Mueller are required to attend.
Asked if he plans to contest Mueller's custody of the kids, Sheen told People magazine over text, "Born ready. Winning."
