Mimi Knoop Skater

The Knoop Dogg is a classic beauty. She turned pro in 2003, and stormed onto the scene with a second place finish in the women’s vert at the Slam City Jam in Vancouver, Canada. When skating, Mimi likes to go fast and have fun. She has five X-Games medals to her name and is also a freelance artist and vice president of the Action Sports Alliance, a non-profit organization of female skateboarders. For her next trick, Mimi wants to learn a frontside gay twist – and we’d all be happy to watch.

Ellen O’Neal Skater

One from the old school. This long legged blond hit the world stage in the seventies riding for Gordon & Smith. She’s considered a pioneer of women’s skateboarding who brought the sport to wider audiences by exhibiting her freestyle talents on the Wonder Woman TV show and in 1978 movie classic Skateboard.This skateriarch and ex-free former world champion also bagged a lifetime achievement award at the 2008 Mighty Mama Skate-O-Rama and takes up a well-earned place in this top ten.

Jen O’Brien Skater

Brains, beauty and talent – Jen is the complete package. She’s been skateboarding for the past 19 years and was the first extreme sports person on the cover of High Times. This innovator was also the first female to skate at the X-Games and the first winner of Transworld’s best female vert award. She campaigns for women’s representation in skateboarding and is co-founder of the Action Sports Environmental Coalition, an organization promoting environmental awareness for extreme sports companies. What a woman.

Eliana Sosco Skater

This street skating Latina beauty earns the top spot with her smooth skating style and badass demeanour. At 24, the Brazilian femme fatale is part of the next generation. With those alluring eyes and full lips, Eliana offers the spice that beauty queens can only dream of, not to mention an enticing attitude and raw talent.Not convinced? Holly Lyons Skater

This well toned vert skating blond has long been a crusader for female skateboarding. Since the mid-nineties she has competed at the X-Games five times, organized amateur contests, set up a clothing company for girls and acted as a stunt double in TV series Hannah Montana.Holly is also one of few female skaters to have her own pro shoe, which features a picture of her pet Chihuahua on its sole. What can we say? Woof woof.

Keeani Lei Skater

Who ever said female skaters suck? Try a video search for this American-Asian minx and you’ll find her busting moves at the Glendale Skatepark bowl in Arizona.But these are not the only videos to feast your eyes on. Keeani is also a big screen star or sorts, having appeared in such forgotten classics as Army of Ass 9, Mr Chew’s Asian Beaver 2 and my personal favorite Fu*key Fu*key my Asian Ass. Lyn-z Adams Hawkins Skater

I wish they all could be California girls. Lyn-z may look like a ditzy blond who doesn’t know which way round the board goes, but she’s not just a pretty face. This prodigy turned pro at 12 and is the first female to skate the mammoth DC Mega Ramp, a feat that has eluded many male pros. She also appeared as a playable character in Tony Hawk’s video game series and is the first female to have pulled off a 540 McTwist. And she’s only 21.

Paulita Costales Skater

Hello, Po-Lee-Ta! The exotic Ms Costales hails from Santa Fe in Argentina and has the looks to match her svelte yet voluptuous name. She kick-started her professional skateboarding career in 2004 as a 15-year-old and likes listening to music while she busts tricks. And though still young, she harbors ambitions of teaching skating, to uncover the next big female talent. If future generations are half as talented as Paulita, skating’s in for a good ride…

Anne-Sophie Julien Skater

Ms Julien is a French Canadian temptress in her early twenties. When she’s not posing for the camera she is the charismatic and stylish host of TV show X-Skatera and a professional skater for Volcom and Globe. The fashionista claims she is better at snowboarding than skateboarding, but she’s said to excel in both ramp and street skating, and we’re sure you’ll all agree she’d make as good if not better a glamor model. Ooh la la!

Heather Christensen Skater

A Playboy model and a skateboarder? This fiery 31-year-old red head combines topless posing with a passion for the extreme. When her 34-C bust isn’t giving cameramen a hard time, it can be found wobbling about in skateparks through the US. What’s more, she actually did one shoot on a board with those little beauties exposed to the breeze. Heather has been skating for the past 12 years and even lived with pro skater Anthony Furlong. Playboy once airbrushed out the scars she received after breaking her arm on a metal ramp at a Skatopia in Ohio. Rad.
