Helena Bonham Carter ignored by Colin Firth

She has won a Oscar nomination for her role as Queen Mother Elizabeth in ‘The King’s Speech’ but Helena Bonham Carter says that the film, is a “bromance” between Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.

The British actress said that the bonding between Firth, who plays stammering monarch George IV, and Rush who plays his speech therapist Lionel Logue, was so strong that she was often left out, reported a website.

“Well, on the set it was really about the two boys, Colin and Geoffrey. As long as Geoffrey was there Colin didn’t even notice me, not until Geoffrey finally finished his scenes and went off. I said to Colin when he realised I was there, ‘Well, I have been playing your wife, love’,” said the British actress.

The 44-year-old actress, who is the partner of filmmaker Tim Burton said that the period drama was a good change for her.

“But it is good for me to be seen as vaguely normal in a film instead of being dressed as a witch or some strange character,” she said.
